GeoScience maintains an experienced staff of geologists, soil scientists and environmental technicians, each of whom has been employed by the firm for a minimum of 20 years. Several team members have environmental backgrounds that extend beyond their years with the company.
TIMOTHY L. CRUMBIE – President, B.S.
Tim is a Registered Professional Geologist in Kentucky and Tennessee. He is also a Certified Professional Geologist through the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG). Tim received his B.S. degree in Geology from Eastern Kentucky University in 1986 and has more than 25 years of professional experience.
From 1987 through 1990, Tim worked as a field geologist performing geotechnical investigations, soil and groundwater investigations on RCRA and CERCLA sites, and installing groundwater monitoring and recovery systems. Prior to joining Spade Corporation in January 1992, Tim was an environmental inspector at a municipal health department, where his responsibilities included reviewing and issuing asbestos abatement permits, inspecting asbestos abatement job sites, serving as a public information officer, and was a member of the Hazardous Materials Response Team. Until he was named President in February 2001, Tim served as Executive Vice President of GeoScience Consultants. He is an active member of the Geological Society of Kentucky (GSK), National Groundwater Association (NGWA), and the AIPG, where he has held several positions including President, Treasurer, Secretary and Past President. In 2009, Tim served as the national Vice President for AIPG.
GIL W. CUMBEE – Vice President, B.S.
Gil is a Registered Professional Geologist in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana and Missouri. Gil obtained his B.S. degree in Chemistry with minors in Geology and Biology from Hanover College. He has also completed several graduate level courses in Kentucky and Oklahoma. Before joining an environmental firm, Gil spent 10 years as a mid-continent Petroleum Geologist. Since 1981, he has served as an environmental project manager responsible for RCRA, hazardous and non-hazardous UST investigations and remediation projects.
Gil joined the GeoScience family as a full-time project manager in August, 1995. Since that time, he has managed all aspects of a number of underground storage tank sites, and in 2001, was named Vice President of the company. Gil is a Certified Monitoring Well Driller in Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee and has been a member of the Geological Society of America (GSA) and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) since 1978. He is also an active member of the National Ground Water Association (NGWA), the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG), and the Geological Society of Kentucky (GSK).
ROB EUBANKS – Project Manager, B.S.
Rob received his degree in Soil Science from Eastern Kentucky University in 1993. While completing his studies, Rob worked as a soils research assistant, managed the soils lab at EKU and was employed as a field technician for a geotechnical firm. Since joining GeoScience in February of 1994, Rob has managed all aspects of various projects under his supervision, including but not limited to, underground storage tanks, due diligence, spill/release response, stormwater management, and permitting (NPDES/KPDES and NetDMR).
KIT CARSON LEWIS – Environmental Specialist, B.S.
Kit received his degree in Environmental Health Science from Eastern Kentucky University in 1995 and joined GeoScience’s team in August of 1996 as a sampling technician. Carson’s responsibilities have since expanded to include project scheduling and coordination, inventory control, emergency response, field oversight during investigations and remedial activities, system Operation & Maintenance, and limited report preparation.
MARLENE H. JAMES – Office Manager
Marlene worked as an accounting clerk for Spade Corporation from 1983 until 1992, when she joined the GeoScience family as Office Manager. Prior to working for Spade, Marlene gained applicable experience working in private and public sectors. She has over 30 years of experience in the accounting field and has extensive experience with fund reimbursement projects.
